Hello everybody, I am Juan Carlos Gastelum, President of One Way Properties. I have been in the real estate arena for quite a while now. I am an attorney in Mexico and have advised many individuals and companies in their real estate endeavors for almost 30 years. About a decade ago I started investing in real estate in Texas and have now developed a passion for the subject.

What does the future hold for real estate? Many are talking about another real estate crash. Others say that this will not be like the great recession of 2008.
So, where is the real estate market heading? Well, I´m not an economist, nor do I have a crystal ball, and I don´t think anyone can be absolutely sure about where the real estate market will be at any given time. But I think it is safe to say that if you do your research on your target area, your type of property, your level of risk tolerance, and knowing whether your market is a cyclical market, a linear market, or a hybrid, you can make a better decision than if you’re just trying to gamble and time the market.
If you´re just wanting to get into real estate, my best tip is to learn, learn, and continue to learn. Educate yourself by reading and listening to podcasts such as Bigger Pockets, and stay current and informed. What happened in 2020 will not necessarily continue into 2021, or what happens this year will not necessarily repeat in 2022. So stay abreast of your market trends.
The government has announced that forbearance is going to extend until the end of July 2021. We´ll see how real it gets.
