Hello everyone. This is Juan Carlos Gastelum. I am a real estate investor in Texas. Today I want to go over one of the major investment trends in 2021. One which has been of great interest for the investment community: Cryptocurrencies; particularly the rise in Bitcoin. Arguably the greatest investor of all time, Warren Buffett, has expressed his opinion about bitcoin as an asset. Basically, he said that it’s something you invest in that doesn’t produce anything. He says there are no checkpoints to Bitcoin or to any other cryptocurrency, and he makes an analogy of cryptocurrency investing to speculation or even gambling. He compares this to the tulipmania crisis and market crash in Amsterdam back in 1637. So, are we seeing something like tulipmania with cryptocurrencies? Well, we may not know in the near future, but we are sure to find out in time. Now if we compare this to real estate, real estate is an asset that produces rents. It’s an asset that comes with a lot of benefits like, appreciation and tax advantages. It also has an intrinsic value to it, unlike what Warren Buffett refers to with bitcoin. So our tip for today is to give some thought to whether you want to invest in a trend or you want to invest in an income and cash flow producing asset. That’s it for now. Take care.
